The Finest Punta Cana - Day 2

Updated: Aug 16, 2022

Tuesday, April 19 - The day before our guests arrived! We've been planning the ICWTT With Destene and Brandon trip for months and we couldn't believe that it was less than 24 hours away. We prepped all of our gift bags and we couldn't wait for our guests to receive their gifts. Let me give you a sneak peek of all of the goodies in our gift bags:

1. ICWTT Beach Bag

2. ICWTT Shirt

3. Book: The Dating Playbook by Farrah Rochon

4. Extrashade Sunscreen

5. EarPlanes ear buds (picture - left)

6. Summer hat (picture - below)

7. Beach Flip Flops

As you can see...I loved all of the products so much that Anthony caught me in everything at some point during the trip.

We had breakfast at Gusto in the Finest Club. If you are an Excellence Club member, you will have Club level status on the Finest Club side as well. Gusto is such a cute restaurant. The decorations are so cool. The restaurant had a wall covered in faux greenery and a little private area for small parties.I'm not a huge breakfast eater, but I was really impressed with their breakfast. They offered a la cart items and they had a nice variety of options and a breakfast bakery bar items. My only complaint was that breakfast took a long time to be served. However, our server was very aware of the wait and apologized to us. We weren't on a rush, so it didn't bother us at all. However, if you’re in a rush to hit the beach or head to an excursion, I would head to the International Market buffet.

The Finest resort has so many activities to offer, like a basketball court, tennis court, pickle ball court, kids center, and pool activities for the adults and kids. We started playing tennis when we were on vacation in the Bahamas in February, so we went to the tennis court to play a few games. Unfortunately, I lost miserably!

Later in the day, we went to the spa for our spa treatment. Or as I would like to call it… a little bit of heaven on Earth. The spa treatment was ABSOLUTELY PERFECT from start to finish. The spa is designed just as modern and chic as the rest of the resort. The staff are all beyond friendly and try to help you with every possible need (who am I kidding, nobody needs a spa treatment)….every possible desire we had. The hydrotherapy treatment is complimentary to all club members. It offers the sauna, steam room, hot and cold shower treatments, pool treatment, and an area to walk on the stones. We purchased the One Balance Ritual spa treatment (deep tissue massage, shiatsu, reflexology, and a cranial massage). We were taken by our masseuse to a spa bar room to pick our scrubs, oils, and lotions after being given an opportunity to smell and touch each one. I thought this was a pretty cool step, because I have never picked out all of the items that would be used in my massage before. After our selection, we were taken to a dim spa room with two beds. Our masseuse were ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE! Anthony said that it was the best massage of his life. I’d say that it definitely made my top 5 massages, but my tow favorite massages was at Hyatt Zilara Punta Cana and Iberostar Grand Punta Cana.

We had dinner at Le Petit Plaisir, the French restaurant. It has a formal atmosphere and it is a quieter restaurant choice than the others. The Seared Salmon (vanillas marinated and cooked in clarified butter, sweet and sour orange sauce, crunchy Camargue style rice) and the Cordon Bleu (emmenthal cheese and pork ham stuffed chicken breast, breaded and fried, bleu cheese sauce, roasted vegetables) are must have orders.

We went to bed right after dinner. You’d be surprised how tired you get after a day in the sun, a full dinner and a room fit for a queen.

Pros:

  1. Go on a ICWTT group trip!( email info@icantwaittotravel.com for more information)

  2. We only share products in our gift bags that we believe in

  3. The hydrotherapy at the spa is incredible. The massages are top notch!

  4. The food at Le Petit Plaisir is really good

Cons

  1. The service at Gusto is slow during breakfast time.
